Data Analyst II or III, Operations

Purpose

 

The Data Analyst is responsible for the collection and analysis of data to support strategic initiatives, with prioritization given to the Wildfire Mitigation Plan and all regulatory reporting requirements. This role will work directly with members of the Operations, Wildfire and Regulatory teams to support the entire data lifecycle, including data cleansing, transformation, and loading into various data repositories for later analysis and reporting. The Data Analyst will also be responsible for project management tasks related to the development of Liberty’s Risk Model Framework.

Accountabilities

 

  • Collaborate with business users to document and implement business requirements; document user requirements and translate requirements into reporting solutions to develop the implementation plan and schedule.
  • Streamline and automate data gathering, data cleansing, and data prep processes using various intelligent automation utilities.  Design, build, and implement new report formats and layouts on a customized basis using dashboard tools.
  • Creation of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to prioritize data for reporting needs. Seek opportunities for automation or enhancement of existing ETL and report design processes.
  • Validate operational and historical data ensuring that it is accurately captured from various data sources, understanding and interpretation of data formulas, and calculations and troubleshooting of variances.
  • Review and interpret reports and analyses to support current business initiatives and support departmental needs for ad hoc reporting. Understand the Utilities’ operational requirements and translate them into actionable and consumable reporting.  Participate in cross-functional teams to review, analyze, and strategize on business needs and potential solutions
  • Work with internal stakeholders and consultants to develop an enhanced risk model for assessing Wildfire Risk and Public Safety Power Shutoff Risk, Risk Spend Efficiency, as well as project planning and prioritization in accordance with the CA Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety Technical Guidelines as part of the Wildfire Mitigation Plan.

Education and Experience

 

  • University - Masters degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience in data analytics
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects that require multiple inputs from cross-functional stakeholders based on business needs and priorities
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Advanced knowledge working with Excel, Visualization Tools, SQL, R/Python/JavaScript

Compensation

Full Salary Range: $76,657 - $114,985 per year

 

*Liberty considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education, training and skills, and geographic location. Base pay for this role is expected to fall within the min to mid-point.
