Purpose
Join our team as a Water Distribution/Production Operator I, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring a safe workplace and delivering top-notch service to our customers. Accountabilities
- Conduct thorough analysis and make informed decisions on job details and emergencies
- Maintain and account for tools, equipment, and assigned vehicles
- Complete daily job safety inspection sheets and accurately read meters
- Perform leak repairs, mains maintenance, fire hydrant management, new service installations, meter changes, and service repairs
- Keep the direct Supervisor informed of field customer service issues and needs
- Utilize PC tablets for field service applications and process service orders efficiently
- Operate hand and power tools, as well as mechanical equipment, during various tasks such as installing, operating, and repairing mains, services, meters, valves, and fire hydrants
- Assist in shutdowns, repairs, disinfection, and restoration of water service to customers
- Oversee and direct contractors as needed
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Experience working in the water utility industry, plumbing industry, or similar mechanical experience
- ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution license prefferred or willingness to obtain
- Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record
- Basic computer skills, including Windows operations knowledge, and experience with communication devices
- Ability to work as part of a team
