Control Room Operator

Purpose

This position is responsible for the operation and understanding of the Sanger Thermal site. Through detailed rounds inside and outside, plant operations (including start up and shut down operations) and maintenance activities this position will ensure that the Sanger Thermal Site is able to keep up with market demands to be competitive and reliable in the CASIO market.

Accountabilities

 

Operations

  • Distributive Control System:  Operation, troubleshooting and corrective action of the DCS.
  • Environmental System: Knowledge of system, monitoring, troubleshooting and corrective action of any environmental system on site.
  • Water Chemistry: Testing, data acquisition, knowledge of process and limits, troubleshooting and corrective action of water chemistry. Ensure that all chemical inventories are maintained.

 

Protection

  • Fire Protection System: Knowledge of system, monitoring, troubleshooting and corrective action.
  • Security System: Knowledge of system, monitoring, troubleshooting and corrective action.
  • Substation Protection: Basic knowledge and understanding of the Substation protection system.

 

Maintenance:

  • Maintenance: Assits Maintenance crew in high level maintenance activies.
  • Maintenance: Perform and complete maintenance tasks as assinged by Plant Supervisor, or Operations Supervisor to ensure the availibility and reliability of the site.
  • Troubleshooting: Able to identify and troubleshoot issues within the powerplant.

 

Other:

  • Work Order Sytem: Prepare, Complete and Submit work orders and preventative maintenance tasks as required and as assinged.
  • Computer Skills: Use of Microsoft office programs such as Word, Excell, and Outlook on a daily basis. Abitlity to use other computer software as determined by Management.
  • Procedures: Learn and follow all Liberty Power procedures.
  • Communication: Communicate with Local Utility, Local ISO, and the scheduling coordinator and maintain records of communications.
  • Elogger: Use Elogger to record plant operational status, any conversations with local utility, Scheduling coordiation local ISO, and to Record all lunches as required.
  • Solar Plant: Perfrom rounds on Solar Site Scada system, Monitor Site Scada, and Site Security Cameras, Occasional work at Solar Site as determined by Management.
  • Any other duties as assigned by site management.
     

Education and Experience

  • 1 – 3 years experience in Steam Plant Operations.  Secondary skills in the area of maintenance.
  • High School, Vocational Training (or equivalent).
  • Specialized knowledge of specific commercial, technical, trades, or office operations areas.
