Purpose

 

The Senior Server Analyst’s role will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for server architecture. This includes securing, configuring and optimizing all virtual systems and services. Development and implementation of standards/processes including VMware vSphere, SRM, Windows Server and public Clouds. Acts as a domain specialist for infrastructure teams in the design, delivery and support of IT solutions. The Senior Server Analyst’s obligation will be to develop and maintain SLAs for all organizational server solutions.

Accountabilities

 

  • Serve as a domain specialist for VMware vSphere and cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with business and IT leadership to assess short and long-term server capacity requirements associated with the organization's infrastructure
  • Work with vendors, business users and other resources to assess and understand technologies and develop proposed beneficial technical solutions
  • Ability to analyze partner requirements and convert into secure solutions
  • Work within established configuration and organizational change policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the server infrastructure
  • Support high availability and ensure uptime consistent with the organization's business requirements
  • Participates in configuration of monitoring tools and alert mechanisms
  • Assist and/or Lead IT Infrastructure Capital Projects
  • Assist in improving and maintaining security posture across the infrastructure services and equipment in line with security and regulatory policies
  • Identify technology gaps and work to evaluate and select appropriate value-add solutions and innovations
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to server configuration, processes, and service records
  • Ensures appropriate compliance and audit requirements are met
  • Support day-to-day operation of server infrastructure and services
  • Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation and respond to outages related to server infrastructure and services
  • Assist with managing relationship with data center and service providers
     

Education and Experience

 

  • Expert level knowledge in Virtualization technologies, VMware and Azure or other clouds
  • Expert level knowledge in security designs and standards for VMware and Cloud platforms
  • Expert level knowledge of Windows Server and active directory
  • Antivirus and Malware Protection McAfee/Cisco AMP
  • Role Based Access (RBAC) and Identity Access Management (IAM)
  • Identity Verification, Authentication, Single Sign-On, and Multi-Factor technologies
  • Enterprise DNS management
  • Operating System hardening and compliance
  • Azure Active Directory, AD FS, Office 365
  • Experience with datacenter technologies
  • Self-motivated with an ability to multi-task and prioritize across competing initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing technical landscapes
  • Ability to communicate with business partners from many different backgrounds and technical abilities

  • Mission critical and/or life safety facilities
  • VMWare vRealize Operations Advanced Technology
  • Solarwinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM) and Server and Application Monitor (SAM)
  • Microsoft DFSR
  • Dell/EMC Avamar and Data domain Backup/Recovery technologies
