Senior Manager, Transformation Quality Assurance

Purpose

 

The Senior Manager - Transformation is responsible for providing leadership in the governance, planning and delivery of Liberty Utilities Customer First program. The position will operate as a leader on the transformation program with a focus on Quality Assurance and testing working alongside program delivery leadership teams, system integrators, vendor partners, technical teams and business owners to ensure program outcomes are achieved. 
 

What will you do?

Reporting to the Director – Enterprise Program Management, this position is responsible for enabling teams to deliver at speed with quality through effective agile quality management capabilities. In this role, you will manage the work of our delivery partners and associated contractual commitments.
In partnership with the System Integrator (SI) the Senior Manager will be responsible to ensure QA milestones are delivered successfully within the scope of the SAP Foundations Project enabling the release high quality capabilities to production. Testing scope includes, functional unit, integration, user acceptance, performance, disaster recovery and security. You will provide leadership and coaching to a matrix team in support of this function, operating in close partnership with team leaders/test captains and their respective teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Accountabilities

 

  • Improve and establish leading QA practices and methods while contributing thought leadership 
  • Ensure QA activities are well planned and integrated across program streams 
  • Manage QA reporting and insights to support production release go-live signoff 
  • Manage QA entry and exit criteria across test cycles to assess readiness 
  • Govern QA documentation processes and process to satisfy audit requirements 
  • Facilitate the definition of testing scope, requirements, goals and deliverables
  • Review and approve partner QA deliverables established within the statement of work 
  • Manage defect reporting and resolution with functional leads to ensure impacts are understood
  • Establish methods to strengthen test coverage via requirement traceability matrices 
  • Oversee implementation of test automation practices as a component of the test strategy
  • Manage related financial performance mechanisms, capital, forecast, actuals and variances  
  • Qualify vendor resource plans to share a view of resource capacity, demand and utilization 
  • Mitigate delivery risks through diligent management of progress of related workstreams 
  • Foster productive relationships across IT, Business and Vendor leadership team
  • Lead, inspire and support team members to drive high performance and team engagement
  • Collaborate and foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Champion and drive continuous improvement and implementation of new capabilities 
  • Deliver specific and measurable outcomes supporting improved speed to market
  • Continuously improving processes and a relentless pursuit of reliability and efficiency
  • Fostering a culture of innovation within the team and with partners

Education and Experience

  • 5 or more years of experience developing, implementing and supporting QA capabilities 
  • Combination of business and technical orientation to engage a cross section of leaders
  • Proficiency in using MS Office tools together with strong presentation and report writing skills
  • Strong project management, facilitation, problem solving capabilities and delivery skills
  • Successful experience delivering complex, software delivery transformation initiatives
  • Vendor performance management ensuring delivery to contract terms 
  • Passionate self-starter attitude with the ability to adapt and thrive with ambiguity
  • Known for your influencing skills, and working with a broad range of stakeholders 
  • Noted as an exceptional problem solver; anticipates and assess risks, crafts contingency plans and manages change in a complex environment
  • With a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, computer science or related discipline
     

Desirable 

  • Utility, Power Generation and/or Energy Sector Experience
  • Degree in Business or Computer Science, or relevant experience
  • PMP Credentials considered an advantage
  • Quality Engineering and DevOps practices
