Senior Manager, Financial Systems (SAC/HFM)

Purpose

 

The incumbent is responsible during 2021 for driving the successful implementation of SAP Analytics for the Cloud (SAC) a software as a service (SaaS) financial planning and business intelligence platform, allowing users to discover, plan, predict and collaborate all on a single platform at the Company.  This individual will act as the key resource to ensure that the project is on track, identify areas of risk and mitigation plans.

Accountabilities

 

  • Overall Liberty EPM lead on the Customer First Foundations project
  • Manage the work collaboratively with the third party service providers who are working on the Customer First program, challenge them and hold them accountable for timely delivery of a high quality thoroughly tested SAC product at Go Live
  • Overall responsibility to identify issues and risk mitigation opportunities within the project, communicate these to the appropriate individuals in a timely manner, help develop and execute solutions/mitigation activities
  • Assist the overall Finance team in understanding the status of the project, and how they can be involved to ensure a successful implementation
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring that communication between the Project Team and the Liberty Business Stakeholders is effective and timely
  • Drive the project to completion, ensuring best practice opportunities are identified and implemented as appropriate.
  • Assist in all areas of the SAC implementation including activities leading up to Go-Live, Hyper-care and successful completion of the 2021 FP&A deliverables.
  • Actively identify and document areas for future improvement and development of the SAC tool.
  • Oversight on the HFM rebuild with the new SAP Chart of Accounts (COA) to align systems and reduce reconciliation efforts by ensuring reconciliation of data between HFM and SAC
  • Other duties as assigned

Future Position – Timing approximately Q1/Q22022

 

  • Overall responsibility of a seamless integration the EPM and other systems.  The implementation of the SAC Planning solution will be complete by July 2021, however there will be a need to perform Enhancements review and Regression testing as the ERP goes Live as part of Release 2,3 & 4. 
  • Overall responsibility for the integration of the key Finance Systems for internal management and external financial statement reporting; SAC and HFM. This includes communication between all stakeholders.
  • Actively manage the integration and maintenance of the SAC and HFM Finance systems and proactively control potential areas of risk.
  • Collaboration with key Operational and /or Finance stakeholders inclusive of monthly, quarterly, annual  and/or ad hoc requirements                    
  • Overall responsibility for the strategic use of the SAC and HFM Finance systems, ensure the Finance team achieves the highest benefit from the investment in the systems through automation
  • Evaluate and drive next level of automation for the Finance Team and deliverables to the business            
  • Actively  facilitate and encourage the development of new/enhanced SAC reporting to advance understanding of company performance and yielding value add insights throughout the organization
  • Responsibility for leading, supporting the direction of SAC and HFM financial systems, internal management reporting and external financial statement reporting.
  • Actively identify and implement into the organization best practices from the industry peers
  • Overall accountability for the derivation of the strategic direction, use and enhancements to SAC and HFM, work collaboratively with senior management
  • Drive the execution of benchmarking initiatives within the Finance Team, work collaboratively with senior management.  Identify areas for improvement where systems can drive success.                
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Responsibilities

  • Drive the ongoing improvement of SAC and HFM within the overall organization
  • Identify and implement constant employee training, areas of focus.
  • Desire and ability to assist the team in driving efficiencies and automation across all areas.
  • Ad-Hoc duties and accountabilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor degree or greater (e.g. Business, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, etc.).
  • CPA–CA or a minimum of 8 years working within financial reporting in a large corporate environment.
  • Previous experience with FP&A
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Systems Implementation Experience in a large public company.
  • 10 years + progressive experience in similar positions.
  • Prior experience with SAP planning and forecasting modules
  • Preference would be for a candidate who also possesses experience in power generation or utilities industries.
  • High attention to detail and desire to learn.
  • Ability to work as a team member with peers and all levels of management to help drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to influence behavior and decision making of others
