Senior Manager, Enterprise Transformation Program Delivery

Purpose

 

The Senior Manager - Transformation is responsible for providing leadership in the governance, planning and delivery of Liberty Utilities Customer First program. The position will operate as a leader on the transformation program working alongside program delivery leadership teams, system integrators, vendor partners, technical teams and business owners to ensure program outcomes are achieved. 

What will you do?

Reporting to the Director – Enterprise Program Management, this position will oversee project streams within the Customer First Transformation program. A key component of this function is to manage dependencies, develop an integrated plan for execution, consolidate reporting to management and stakeholders on the status of projects, and address issues and risks as they arise. This function will monitor resource capacity and allocation to projects within the program. They will work with the business community to ensure that projects have the necessary level of stakeholder commitment to enable successful project delivery. 

Accountabilities

 

  • Managing and executing on highly complex transformational initiatives from planning through to implementation inclusive of transition to operations.   
  • Proactively manage program delivery, interdependencies and relationships across internal and external workforces as needed, monitor and report on execution of deliverables through all program/project phases. 
  • Support strong program governance, creating and disseminating materials for steerco review and decision making.  
  • Collaborating closely with Managers, Directors and Vice-Presidents across the organization, leverage critical thinking, decision making, relationship building, and project leadership 
  • Take responsibility for end-to-end solution delivery, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality project outcomes through effective team communications and focus on quality
  • Manage change requests, validate budget/schedule impacts, obtain stakeholder commitment, and communicate approved changes to all teams
  • Maintain a strong focus effective organizational and human change management practices to successfully implement and sustain the change
  • Represent the transformation program on a regular basis with other departments, internal and external customers/vendors.
  • Communicating with project and/or program stakeholders and sponsors, to maintain executive support, remove obstacles, and resolve conflicts
  • Improves the success of the program by managing the risks of concurrent and fast follow project deliveries
  • Monitors financial performance of execution against budget and recommends corrective action where necessary
  • Leading, mentoring and developing team members engaged in the transformation program
     

Education and Experience

 

  • Advanced Degree, in business, engineering, computer science or equivalent experience 
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP)®credentials considered and asset
  • 10+ years delivering large scale solution implementations (technology architecture, data, process, operations and design)
  • Professional experience in energy & utilities including regulated electric, gas and water utility expertise is an asset 
  • 3+ years experience in consulting leading complex programs and/or articulating strategy
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship skills, ability to balance multiple stakeholders and agendas 
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation completed by strong financial and business acumen
  • Solid understanding of program management, SDLC, Agile principles and methods 
  • Knowledge of Utilities SAP, GIS, field work and scheduling applications considered and asset
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving, operations and change management skills 
  • Excellent written and oral communication, including formal presentations to senior executives
