Manager, Organization Design

Purpose

The role of the Manager, Organization Design is to lead projects with internal leadership teams, and provides and advice on opportunity to enable our strategy, customer, and employee experience as we prepare for and implement transformation initiatives. The role engages proactively with business and HR leaders to define the future state and interim organizational design needed to support Liberty’s growth and operational excellence objectives. 

Responsibilities will include end-to-end engagement and facilitation of all phases of organization design initiatives including: objective definition, current state analysis (qualitative and quantitative), definition of design options / recommendations for organization structure, role design, interaction & RACI design, as well as transition planning. 

The Manager partners with peers across the transformation program, business, and human resources to understand the future needs of the business and to ensure that organizational changes are translated into our process designs, system role designs, organizational change management plans, and introduced into key employee touchpoints to drive a consistent understanding of future accountabilities, responsibilities, and ways of working. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Accountabilities

  • Leads / supports the execution of operating model & organization design initiatives in collaboration with business, HR, and external stakeholders to deliver on Liberty’s strategy and transformation objectives.
  • Conducts current and future state analysis, develops operating model & organization design options and makes recommendations to senior leadership teams.
  • Develops an understand of emerging trends and issues in the Utility industry, and functional departments to support effective decision-making.
  • Breaks down strategic problems and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Engages with internal and external peers to embed organization design decisions within order process design, system role design, training, etc.
  • Advises on the implementation of operating model & organization design solutions; including effective organization structure, roles & responsibilities design, definition of cross-functional interactions, and collaborates with HR and organizational change teams to define organizational development interventions (training, coaching, culture change, etc.)

Education and Experience

  • 5-10 years of work experience ideally in a large matrix organization.
  • 3+ years experience in org design.
  • A fundamental knowledge of how an organizational design project is run and implemented.
  • The ability to, and have experience demonstrating managing multiple priorities and deliver commitments on time.
  • Experienced in internal project work; running a workshop; assigning tasks and analyze information.
  • Comfort combining both qualitative and quantitative analysis to solve business problems.
  • Able to work within a wide range of industries performing research to solve complex business problems.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with a sense of leadership.
  • The will and ability to travel (up to 20%) wherever our projects take you - locally, provincially, nationally and internationally.
