Manager, Operational Excellence

The Operational Excellence manager is responsible to deliver Liberty’s enterprise Operational Excellence strategy through coaching leaders and teams through local deployments of a Lean Management System in the organization. 
It will require working with teams and leadership to build continuous improvement practices in order to deliver better outcomes for employees, customers, and shareholders. The coach may also be responsible for leading teams through improvement projects related to more complex cross functional process issues and opportunities. 
This approach is expected to deliver the following business outcomes: Increased operational maturity, improved operational and financial performance measures and increased employee engagement.



Support the business to implement sustainable continuous improvement practices by delivering and coaching on:

  • Metrics framework, visual management and huddles to manage performance
  • Continuous improvement structure and problem solving
  • Leadership standard work
  • Capacity management practices

Build employee engagement through:

  • Co-creating the management system with local leaders and teams
  • Empowering teams to identify and solve problems at the appropriate levels in the organization
  • Coaching leaders and teams to manage their own lean management system

Enhance operational and financial performance:

  • Work with teams to identify the most important metrics and generate a backlog of improvement opportunities
  • Identify and work with teams to implement opportunities to reduce waste and frustrations for front line teams and improve key performance indicators
  • Lead, and coach teams through, process improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities

Education and Experience


  • Ability to lead change and influence leadership and staff. Strong understanding of change management approaches.
  • Ability to train, coach and deliver Lean Management System with leaders and their teams. Strong coaching skills and knowledge of Lean Management a must have.
  • Strong workshop facilitation skills including working with front line workers and senior leaders
  • Ability to present data and information in a compelling way to influence and achieve support for change
  • Ability to analyze the business, map processes and analyze data in order to highlight pain points for clients and partners.
  • Proven orientation to delivering business results and a demonstrated ability to execute.
