Manager, Internal Controls and Compliance - Transformation

The Manager reports into the Internal Controls and Compliance team and works with the SAP transformation teams to support the internal controls over financial reporting (“ICFR”) work stream. This Role is also accountable to support the functional duties throughout the course of the SAP implementation project such as design workshops, Functional Specification Document review and validation, security design validation, integration testing, cut-over and hyper care support as needed. In addition, the role will support assigned activities related to the Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”) program at Liberty.



SAP ICFR Work Stream Lead

  • Plan, lead and manage the ICFR workstream deliverables to ensure timely execution and delivery. Bring expertise in ICFR to the Project based on overall controls knowledge and experience.
  • Support the Internal Controls Team and the 3rd party consultants through all phases of the Project in delivering the corresponding work plan and deliverables, e.g., Risk and Control Matrices updates, process and control narratives, controls configuration testing, controls training, IT general controls support, GRC support, SOC report assessment, etc.
  • Ensure continual communication and collaboration with the various SAP IT Project teams regarding ICFR related matters.
  • Suggest and implement timely problem prevention and resolution actions.
  • Provide regular updates to the Project leadership team and management team and ensure status alignment and timely issue resolution.
  • Act as the primary contact for coordinating and supporting the internal and/or external ICFR audit efforts related to the Project.


Functional Team Support

Participate in the following SAP functional efforts as required:

  • Design workshop / alignment session with business / end users
  • Review and validate Functional Specification Documents and testing documents
  • User access security design and validation, including segregation of duties risk analysis and resolution
  • Integrated testing
  • Data conversion and validation
  • Cutover activities
  • Development of training materials and conducting training sessions
  • Post project go-live support


SOX Program Support

Support assigned activities as required such as:

  • Create and update process narratives/flowcharts for new acquisitions
  • Perform and/or support SOC 1 Type 2 internal controls report assessments
  • eGRC Archer tool data migration and reports creation

Education and Experience

  • University - Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of previous experience with Internal controls 
  • Project management experience; Project management professional (PMP) designation is an asset
