Manager, Data Innovation and Decision Intelligence (DevOps & DataOps)

Purpose

 

This position is responsible for enabling a cloud-based enterprise data analytics ecosystem to empower business partners to further enhancing customer experience, increasing revenues and improving operational efficiencies. The Manager, Data Innovation and Decision Intelligence plays a critical role in establishing Liberty’s Center of Excellence in data innovation and business architecture.  This is a great opportunity for an individual with a passion for combining business acumen and data to develop actionable insights, presenting key learnings, and delivering transformational outcomes in collaboration with our business partners.

Accountabilities

 

  • Develop and support data innovation and business architecture roadmap and guide its implementation
  • Drive analytics innovation by leveraging the appropriate techniques to solve challenging business problems and rapid prototyping
  • Lead and execute high-profile and time-sensitive analyses with decision-grade executive-ready quality
  • Support and coordinate with business partners on the development
  • Execute, oversee, and evolve models and algorithms selection to deliver solutions that are relevant and facilitate decision-making
  • Performing data wrangling and feature selection effectively as well as developing algorithm with optimized computational cost
  • Build and deliver scenario simulations and other data products to inform business and operational decision-making process
  • Implement model tracking, updating, and auto-train capabilities in addition to accounting for drift and imbalance
  • Ensure data products and codes released by the team all have completed and up-to-date documentations available to internal stakeholders
  • Curate relevant internal and external data sources and maintain data quality for advanced analytics
  • Facilitate hands-on sessions in prioritizing user-stories, designing analytical approaches, running experiments, and assessing data product performance
  • Lead by example to leverage design- and system-thinking concepts with an agile mindset to create and deploy incremental, viable data products by leveraging tools available in-house and in the open-source ecosystems
  • Stay current on emerging trends in operations and customer experience best practices and other relevant community publications
  • Mentor junior analysts and data science community at-large and participate in continuous self-learning
  • Support creating compelling, meaningful and memorable messaging and presentations to address business questions (both written and verbal)
  • Foster effective and emphatic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to collaborate and achieve common goals

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor degree in an analytical discipline such as: mathematics, applied science and engineering, physics, computer science, operations research, financial engineering, data science
  • 5+ years of professional experience in analytics environment with proven value creation outcomes
  • 5-7 years of professional experience with SQL and/or Python
  • 3-5+ years of experience leading and delivery enterprise-scale data science/ML projects across multiple countries and facilitating collaboration across teams
  • Effective communication and influencing skills to convey complex conceptual information and ideas on complex issues involving extensive analyses and interpretations
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses
  • Track record of research and intrapreneurial accomplishments towards solving business challenges
  • Experience in supporting 5+ direct team members
  • Experience in data modeling, data architecture, data engineering (familiarity with ETL/ELT tools, data warehousing and big data architecture and cloud constructs)
  • Hands-on experience with OLAP cube analysis and development, Spark, Hadoop, cloud technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, AzureML, Azure Synapse,and Snowflake
  • Hands-on experience with Presto, Hive, Google Fusion, Google BigQuery, AWS SageMaker, and others is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in data visualization tools such as Microsoft Reporting Services, Looker, QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, D3, SAP SAC
  • Experience with API design and development, software engineering is a plus
  • Experience cleaning, transforming and visualizing large data sets working with various data formats such as unstructured logs, XML, JSON, flat files, audio, image
  • Experience with vendor management including Proof-of-Concept, term sheets negotiations, and completing master service agreements is an asset
  • Working knowledge of ERP/CIS/GIS tools including but not limiting to SAP, Hyperion, Click, Salesforce, SAP Marketing Cloud, ArcGIS is an asset
