Accountant - Mid

The Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions within the Company’s financial system and assist with financial reporting deliverables for the Renewable Energy Group and its subsidiaries.




  • Prepare journal entries and support the monthly financial close cycle
  • Prepare account reconciliations and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare support to the notes to the consolidated financial statements
  • Responsible for Intercompany billing and reconciliation of Intercompany accounts 
  • Prepare standalone financial statements for subsidiaries of the Company 
  • Provide support for external and internal audits
  • Working with the FP&A team, review variance analysis to detect potential errors
  • Support system implementation, maintenance and enhancement activities.
  • Actively participate in identification and execution of process improvements/best practice initiatives

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with an emphasis in Accounting required
  • A CPA designation, or curiosity about pursuing this designation 
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) or IFRS required
  • Prior work experience preparing journal entries, GL reconciliations, financial analysis and financial statements
  • Three years of Accounting experience preferred
  • Willingness to learn, excellent analytical, communication and teamwork skills  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) particularly in Excel required.
  • SAP or Hyperion experience is an asset
