Intern, GIS

Purpose

Under the guidance of technical staff, the GIS Intern will be expected to perform various duties in support of Engineering, Technical Services, Construction, and O&M teams.

 

Accountabilities

 

  • Field data collection activities, using GPS and related tools
  • Assist in digitizing GIS Data
  • Prepare land base maps
  • Distribute and visualize information as appropriate/requested
  • Prepare hard copy maps and generate reports as needed
  • Perform basic scripting assignments
  • Perform related office and project administration work as required

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Currently enrolled in 2 or 4-year degree programs such as Geography or Computer Science.
  • Other relevant degree paths may be considered, especially if the candidate has relevant work experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • ESRI experience, considered a plus. #LI-DS1
