Purpose
Responsible for gas purchasing for Northeast region including EnergyNorth, Keene, New England Gas and St. Lawrence Gas. Ensures natural gas supplies are in place for peak and off peak periods including long-haul, call options, LNG/propane supply inventories and trucking. Solicits RFP's (requests for proposal), tracks pricing, analyzes bid results, performs hedging activities and makes decisions for day to day supply plans for Energy North, New England Gas and St. Lawrence Gas.
Accountabilities
- Maintains daily balance between natural gas deliveries and consumption for legal entities
- Works closely with Gas Control forecasting to ensure adequate supply of gas each day
- Issues RFPs for LDC's and monitors the process from solicitation to signed contract.
- Ensures transaction confirmation between parties are in compliance with company goals. Works closely with Legal and Treasury group as well as Energy Procurement department to ensure all contractual requirements are met.
- Notifies winning bidders as well as subsequent bidders of the final results.
- Attends meetings and performs critical analysis on pricing and strategy
- Executes hedging program
- Interacts with several external groups to ensure Liberty is recognized as a leader in the Natural Gas industry.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 5 years’ experience in the natural gas industry or similar experience with demonstrated ability to proactively identify and solve problems; strong analytical, oral, and written communications skills required.
- Strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office required.
