Operational Excellence Coach (Supervisor II)

This position is responsible for delivering Liberty’s enterprise Operational Excellence strategy by supporting deployments of a Lean Management System in the organization. We are looking for an effective collaborator with energy, enthusiasm and a can-do attitude who can empower others, gain buy-in and achieve results. 
It will require working with teams to build continuous improvement practices in the business to deliver better outcomes for customers, employees and shareholders.  We are looking for strong coach who can build strong relationships, can clearly communicate, motivate and drive accountability. 
This approach is expected to deliver the following business outcomes: Increased operational maturity, improved operational and financial performance measures and increased employee engagement


  • Support the deployment of performance management systems across the Liberty footprint
  • Coach and train teams and leaders to embed a continuous improvement culture
  • Perform and support data analysis to drive business insights
  • Facilitate problem-solving activity and/or process improvement events
  • Develop new processes, methods and approaches to enhance and add additional business value
  • Develop change and communication plans to support deployments  
  • Drive and manage project delivery by engaging the teams and utilizing project management tools and skills.
  • Drive continuous improvement within our own team’s methodology and documentation to enhance and add additional business value.

Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience with Operational Excellence / Lean preferred
  • University - bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Broad Job Knowledge - Broader knowledge of theory and principles within a professional discipline or advanced knowledge of specific technical/operational practices
  • Must have a good understanding of basic statistical techniques related to process improvement, and an ability to analyze data to gain insights and support problem solving.
  • Must have knowledge of Lean management systems, Lean tools and approaches
  • Must have ability to facilitate cross-functional teams through current state assessments, process mapping exercises, root cause analysis and future state design sessions.
  • Must be able to train, coach and influence leaders and teams in Lean and performance improvement approaches. Must have an advanced level of listening and verbal communication skills, conflict resolution abilities and group facilitation skills.
  • Must have knowledge in Lean and Operational Excellence approaches, bringing credibility to the role and ability to influence senior leaders and teams.
  • Must have ability to adapt to different personal and learning styles.
  • Must be able to assess the effectiveness of training and coaching to improve the approach.
  • Must have strong relationship management skills with ability to build and maintain relationships at various levels in the organization.
  • Must have a good understanding of basic project management disciplines.
  • Must have a good understanding of change management principles and approaches, with experience of practical application. Able to develop change and communication plans to support engagements and improvement projects.
  • Must be able to develop strategies and tactics to mitigate resistance to change at both an individual and group level.
  • Must be aware of the human challenges in every improvement project. Behaves professionally with good emotional intelligence.
