Purpose
Leads the Gas Scheduling and Retail Choice functions to ensure accurate and timely scheduling and reporting of natural gas supplies on several interstate pipelines throughout Liberty Utilities, including the Central and East Regions. Manages the team to ensure that the team schedulers maintain uninterrupted delivery of natural gas as required to satisfy customer demand needs. Works closely with the purchasing and planning leads of the Central and East Region within Energy Procurement. Ensures that scheduling coverage is available 24/7. Interacts with Supplier, Producer and Pipeline personnel to support the timley and accurate operation of the Company’s gas management, retail choice and invoicing activities.

Accountabilities
- Manages others to ensure that gas supplies are scheduled and delivered in a highly accurate manner consistent with best-cost supply strategies.
- Monitors contracts and pipeline tariffs to assure rules are followed and utilized for procurement decisions, including updating pipeline rates in a gas management system
- Maintains Marketer data system and rules (for applicable natural gas utilies and Granite State electric), and ensures accuracy of related gas nominations and pipeline confirmations
- Reconciles pipeline, supplier, hedging and other transactional invoices and routes for appropriate approvals and signature.
- Follows up with relevant party when there are discrepancies between flowing gas and invoiced volumes
- Prepares invoice with proper financial coding prior to submitting to Finance for payment
- Provides closing information to regulatory and financial accounting for use in forecasting and reconciliation.
- Maintains the Gas Management system for scheduling and capacity release activities for audit and month end activities
- Maintains contract and deal ticket information
- Responds to data requests and inquiries from State Regulatory Commisions
- Maintains close working relationships with local engineering and operations staff, Marketers, Pipeline representatives, Supply Specialists and Planners to ensure effective communication between all parties regarding distribution system integrity
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in the natural gas industry
- Solid business acumen and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Access) and other technologies
- Strong analytical, oral and written communications skills required
