Lead Accountant

The Lead Accountant is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to a team of accountants with similar responsibilities, such as cash and revenue accounting, plant accounting and general accounting concerning the planning and execution of work tasks.  This will include ensuring that the work is done accurately and on a timely basis, conducting team meetings to discuss issues and resolutions and providing guidance and possibly training to the team members. 


  • The lead accountant will have regular meetings with the manager to keep the manager abreast of the team's progress, challenges and concerns and contribute to performance discussions. 
  • Perform individual tasks and responsibilities as assigned.  While the lead accountant may act in a supervisory manner, all employee related tasks, such as performance evaluation, are the responsibility of the manager.                               
  • Perform account analysis, prepare account reconciliations, prepare accounting statements, reports and invoices (as needed)
  • Plans, coordinates and resolves accounting matters with other team members and manager.
  • Coordination and management of work among team members to ensure the work is done accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.  Supervise month-end close activities and preparation of quarterly reports and audit requirements.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5-10 years of increasing responsibility in Accounting function #LI-DS1
