Purpose
Liberty Utilities provides rate regulated water, electricity, and natural gas utility services to over 750,000+ customers in the United States. The transmission business group invests in rate regulated electric transmission and natural gas pipeline systems in the United States and Canada. We are currently seeking an electric retail choice analyst for our electric liberty utility territories. As the electric retail analyst, you will participate in all aspects of the company’s electric retail choice program. You will be expected to develop and maintain relationship with the electric retail marketers and be the first point of contact for all external parties regarding electric retail choice.
Accountabilities
- Supports the Electric Retail Choice Program functions for Liberty territories.
- Monitor and manage customers daily data and EDI transactions.
- Support the functionality of the Systrends EDI management system.
- Quarterly electric migration reconciliation and filing.
- Maintain and load marketer electric rates into SAP.
- Verifies monthly electricity invoices and prepares for approvals.
- Monitor and maintain the company’s shared mailbox for all electric retail inquires.
- Collaborate and work closely with many internal groups including Meter Data Services, Billing, Customer Service, Regulatory, and Finance to resolve all customer and market inquires.
- Assist management in gathering data to be used in commission data request.
- Assist in preparation or completion of for various EIA, PUC and DOE filings in coordination with other departments.
- Interface with customers/marketers as needed to communicate various telemetry and billing issues.
- Develop data driven, insightful analyses to address business challenges or identify opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Respond to data request from internal business customers and regulatory bodies for rate cases and other proceedings.
- Prepare analysis of data sets as requested for management ad hoc.
- Stay current with the company’s electric retail and billing tariff policies, regulatory requirements, market trends, and industry standards regarding customer electric retail choice program.
Education and Experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as Economics, statistics, mathematics, or related field or 3+ years of relevant electric retail or utility billing experience.
- 2-4 years of utility experience strongly preferred.
- Understanding of electric distribution and transmission infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) required.
- Able to react quickly and effectively under changing conditions independently.
- Effectively shares expertise and experience with others and multi-task.
- Experience working in SAP.
- Highly proficient with Excel

- Curiosity about how things work and why.
- Highly motivated, willing to learn.
