Purpose
As our Senior Manager of Rates and Regulatory Affairs you will contribute to the success of rate case filings across our Arizona and Texas Water Utility operations. Reporting to the Senior Director, Rates & Regulatory Affairs, you will be instrumental in preparing regulatory materials and supporting outreach efforts. Your impact will extend to managing key relationships, presenting compelling business cases to the State Corporation Commissions, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
Accountabilities
- Build productive working relationships with the Arizona Corporation Commission staff
- Enhance Liberty's external regulatory strategy
- Act as a primary witness on rate and regulatory-related filings at local regulatory commissions
- Align rate cases with regional regulatory strategies to benefit key local functional areas and enhance shareholder value
- Collaborate with the financial team to ensure timely and accurate updates to rate case models
- Identify tactics for optimizing the recovery of prudently incurred capital and operating expenses
- Engage actively in industry associations, contributing to the development of leadership positions for Liberty
- Provide and collect information and advice to support rate cases, particularly those related to Customer First and dependent projects, across all levels of the organization
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field
- 5-10 years of experience, with a focus on regulatory, accounting, or engineering roles
- Experience working in the Utility industry required
- Experience working with the Arizona Corporation Commission required
- Utility ratemaking experience required
- Understanding of local state commission regulations and filing requirements, with a proven working relationship with local commission and staff
- Demonstrated experience leading a team
- Availability for occasional travel as required
