Purpose

The Meter Data Analyst II operates and manage both ITRON FCS and ITRON MV90 meter reading applications. Includes providing analytical guidance, consultation and support of research projects or system enhancements. Practical knowledge of statistical and mathematical procedures, techniques and practices as it pertains to validation, editing or estimation of meter data. Working knowledge of company billing systems. Works with and provides support to Billing, Rates and Regulatory, Load Forecasting, Economic Development, Transmission, Electric Meter Operations, and Meter Reading. Working knowledge of meter data management, analysis, and reporting computer software, specifically SAS, SQL and the MS Excel.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for all functions of the ITRON FCS meter reading system.
  • Operate ITRON FCS on a daily basis and processes the collected data.
  • Execute all functions of the ITRON MV90 meter reading system. Operates ITRON MV90 on a daily basis and processes the collected data, including interval data imported from ITRON FCS.
  • Coordinate with field team for scheduled readings and late/early meter reading activites. 
  • Troubleshoot meter interrogation and retrieval issues. Meter Data reviewed, validated, edited and estimated on a daily basis.  
  • Develop meter route preparation/modification to and from CIS application.
  • Prepare billing determinants for large volume customers and totalized customers to meet billing cycle schedules.
  • Modify/Create customer Master Files for accurate collection and warehousing of data. 
  • Collect and maintain data based on functional understanding of remote meter data collection methodologies including telephone modems, cellular connections and optical probe sessions. 
  • Collect and maintain data based on functional understanding of electric meters, the MVRS file structure, read codes/items, and meter programming.

Education and Experience

  • Professional Standard - mastery of specific professional discipline combining deep knowledge of theory and organizational practice or expertise across several different disciplines within a function or several different job areas across functions
  • University - Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Previous experience in a Business Analyst role.
  • Experience in a Process Analyst capacity, including process documentation, improvement and development.
  • An expert in Microsoft Office products with particular expertise in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SQL, SAS, SAP and AMI considered strong assets.
  • Ability to prepare documentation using various forms of content (eg. Flowcharts, interviews etc.).
  • Functional understanding of meter data collection equipment, handhelds, docks and wiring. 
  • Must possess considerable understanding of the use and manipulation of interval data.
