Purpose

We’re looking for a collaborative Human Resources Manager to join our team and act as a key partner to both field and office team members. As a proven HR leader, you will work closely with business leaders to align people initiatives with business goals, ensuring our employees have the tools, resources, and opportunities to thrive. Accountabilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR activities across our Arizona, Texas, and California Water Utility operations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations and proactively identify and mitigate HR-related risk
  • Lead employee relations efforts, including conflict resolution, performance management, and fostering positive working relationships to maintain a productive and engaged workforce
  • Collaborate closely with leaders to provide guidance and support in leading teams, ensuring timely resolution of issues impacting employee performance, and fostering a culture of growth and development
  • Implement new HR programs and initiatives, building buy-in from senior leadership and acting as a change leader
  • Leverage HR analytics to provide insights that inform talent strategies and drive business performance
  • Deliver a variety of internal communications to keep teams connected and informed
  • Implement initiatives that enhance the employee experience, focusing on retention, engagement, and aligning HR efforts with organizational goals
  • Promote DEI initiatives, ensuring all employees feel valued and included
  • Partner with the Corporate COE teams to ensure seamless delivery of payroll, benefits, annual merit increases, bonuses, and incentive plans
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to align recruitment strategies with business needs, forecast staffing requirements, and drive workforce planning discussions
  • Provide senior leadership with HR insights and recommendations, helping shape the future of our organization
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience 
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals across all levels of the organization
  • Strong project management and change management skills
  • Ability to take a creative approach to HR challenges
  • Ability to design programs that increase employee engagement and overall job satisfaction
  • Possess a keen eye for detail and ensure accuracy in all aspects of HR operations
