Associate Planner

Purpose

Position is responsible for administering the service application process for new meters. The Associate Planner is a member of the Engineering department that assists in the creation of new assets. Completes preparation of work order packages, preparing service applications and administering the service application process for for within Arizona and Texas. This includes colleting and reviewing the information for a new customer address. Utilizing knowledge of the service area, site specific information from the Geographic Information System (GIS), related regulations and field investigations by others, identify a plan to establish the new customer. Creating job orders in WennSoft, work management. This position will establish and maintain relationships with developers and contractors within the service areas.

Accountabilities

  • Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Serve as initial point of contact on new connection inquiries.
  • View and search within the GIS.
  • Generate and audit new meter assests in Cogsdale.
  • Generate job orders in WennSoft.
  • Collect deposits for new meters.
  • Looks for opportunities to reduce cost per customer performance matrix without impeding maintenance or safety goals.
  • Work with leadership to identify and implement new service and process improvements to improve the efficiency and quality of service.
  • Prepair the New Water and Sewer Connections and Total Connections reports each month.
  • Request new job numbers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two experience in customer service or closely related field will be considered; utility experience a plus.
  • Requires the ability to communicate with internal and external customers in order to obtain and/or provide basic facts using by phone, email, and letter.
  • Requires the ability to perform basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Requires proficient computer skills for data entry, reporting, reference and/or retrieval of tasks.
  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Maintain a valid state driver’s license.
