Purpose

Responsible for the safety, reliability, security, and integrity of the electric metering system and 3-phase pad mount transformers through the daily supervision and organization of meter reading personnel to complete job tasks while complying with Company, departmental and Regulatory policies, procedures, and statutory requirements while providing support to the meter operations department as needed. 

Accountabilities

  • Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling, and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Povide routine forecasting to assure adherence to approved levels.
  • Oversee the operational workload of team to ensure allocated resources are fully utilized to deliver against agreed upon work plan and execute work activities within planned unit and budget cost.
  • Ensure team comply with safety standards, policies, and processes to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff. Also ensure the meter reading vehicle fleet is kept in good working condition and compliant with company polices.
  • Review, ensure accuracy and execute the approval of department purchase orders, invoices, and payroll activities.
  • Execute all work tasks assigned in compliance with all Company, and regulatory requirements for metering operations.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with internal & external customers to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate solutions within Liberty Utilities policies and processes.
  • Monitor performance of allocated staff to ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Act as the first point of contact for multiple internal stakeholders to provide support and ensure Liberty Utilities delivers against service level agreements related to the meter operations department.
  • Work with meter operations manager to provide additional support and meter compliance for overall compliance.
  • Support Liberty’s advanced metering technology within the metering operations department. This includes meter reading equipment, AMI systems and other metering software.
  • Support Liberty’s transformer shop.  This includes ordering transformers, paying invoices, helping with inventory and other transformer shop duties.

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or 3 years of related experience required. 
  • Technically proficient within subject matter and experience of leading a team involved in field operations activities. 
  • Ability to develop, a working knowledge in advanced metering software and hardware to produce reports and reads from those systems. 
  • Ability to develop, a working knowledge of information systems critical to the work management, financial reporting, and performance tracking of the designated area. 
  • Possess a theoretical knowledge and understanding of Liberty Utilities’ policies and processes and how to apply them effectively. 
  • Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) Outlook required. 
  • Valid driver's license required. 
  • Flexible with traveling - overnight out of the normal work area as necessary.
