Senior Manager, Transmission and Distribution Operations

Responsible for supporting the Director of Operations with the following: planning of the line construction budget projects and O&M Budget process, Consulting with local managers to determine construction schedule and labor and equipment requirements, Securing contracts for construction activities with contactors providing desired services, Determine required contractor staffing level to optimize EDE labor utilization and the training of new Line Managers.



Assist the Director of Operations when Soliciting and evaluating bids to secure contracts with contractors providing support to Operations.  Manage contractors to optimize EDE labor utilization.  Evaluate contractor performance to ensure quality service from contractors.

Under the direction of the Director of Line Operations, coordinate with the area Line Managers to help develop the O&M and Construction budgets.

Monitor actual construction expenditures and estimated future expenditures to determine how the project is tracking compared to budget estimate and provide variance explanations.

Support the Director of Line Operations in developing a team atmosphere within the operating area which focuses on the timely delivery of service to the customer in a safe and efficient manner.

Monitor and evaluate completion of routine maintenance, and system reliability issued work. Work with area Line Managers to develop strategies to accomplish this task.

During large power outage restoration events assist with determining the level of contract support required and secure any contract assistance.

Assist the Director of Operations in the training of new Line Managers while stressing consistency in processes and procedures.

Participate on various teams and committees throughout the company in order to maintain an operations presence as needed.


Education and Experience

Line or Electrician Journeyman with high school diploma or equivalent.  Or, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with related line operations experience.  Must have a prior experience as a Line Operations Manager.
