Senior Manager, Strategic Projects

Purpose

The Senior Manager, Strategic Projects will oversee major substation construction projects, ensuring cost-effective and timely completion. Responsibilities include maintaining construction quality, accurate budgeting, adherence to schedules, and implementing cost controls. The position provides technical and management support for Electric Operations through project recommendations and implementations. Key duties include negotiating and reviewing contracts, managing procurement, construction, and ongoing operations and maintenance to safeguard Liberty’s interests.

Accountabilities

  • Organize thoughts and ideas, and express them clearly both orally and in writing. Serve as a critical link to other companies and external resources.
  • Apply broad technical knowledge in electrical disciplines to plan and implement major strategic projects, evaluating alternative capacity options to meet customer requirements.
  • Implement best practices and the latest methods in project management. Set priorities for tasks and goals, organize information and designs, and execute processes and programs.
  • Identify and implement actions required to achieve the company’s strategy. Work towards favorable business arrangements while ensuring the company’s interests are met.
  • Earn trust and respect from colleagues and external partners. Give and accept feedback, and choose the best course of action with urgency and confidence after evaluating options and impacts. Accept accountability for results.
  • Institute programs, policies, and products resulting from projects or strategic plans.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with experience in electric utility construction and project management.
  • Thorough understanding of the principles, purpose, and operation of utility electrical equipment, and practical knowledge of substation operation.
  • Professional Engineer License, or the ability to obtain one.
  • A valid driver's license.
