Regional Supervisor, Transportation

To provide for an organized scheduling of company vehicles for service and repairs.Accountable for managing local and/or regional fleet activities. This includes rolling out fleet processes, supporting the execution of the company wide fleet strategy. Responsible for regional management and maintenance of vehicles and equipment; Schedules and dispatches the local organization's vehicles and drivers; Supports the design specifications for vehicle requisitions as well as making sure that corporate standards are followed; Reports, records and maintains all safety procedures relating to vehicles. Preparation of Fleet Data to be provided for Analysis.

Accountabilities

Preparation of Fleet Data to be provided for Analysis

Large role in supporting National Fleet and reporting fleet analysis to corporate Director of Supply Chain pertaining to National Fleet initiatives. 

Resolving Fleet related issues within local, regional and corporate Policy & Procedures.

Monthly Fleet KPI Reporting, company wide Alt. Fuel analysis. Direct contact/database management with Company Fleet Management Provider. Fleet Ariba Super-user.  Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Lead working with Innovation group.

Assist Fleet Manager with Fleet Specification committee meetings and Safety committee meetings. Promotes and manages all company safety policies and procedures, utilizing company safety Gensuite system.

Assist Fleet Manager in management of transportation O&M and Capital budgets.

Perform transactions to update the system  with the receipt of goods and services ordered to facilitate payment to the appropriate suppliers.

Assist in managing records used to calculate vehicle cost to assist in the budgeting process.

Coordinate with Shop Foreman to manage the scheduling of light, medium and heavy duty vehicles for service and repairs. With the Shop Foreman coordinate to manage the scheduling of unit reviews & DOT inspections. Maintain a local network of vendors for emergency repairs for outsourced vehicles. Be lead contact for parts vendors, work closely with Shop coordinator and Foreman to assure proper parts inventory levels are maintained. 

Leads the work activities of personnel assigned to Transportation Dept.

Recommending improvements toward optimization of the department.

 

Education and Experience

2-3  yr. Of auto-diesel truck training from factory or technical school desired, as well as ASE auto service consultant certification or equivalent. 2 years as a service writer in a repair shop or dealership is preferred. Medium duty truck, hydraulics, and / or parts room knowledge helpful. Must have or be able to obtain a CDL class B driver license and forklift certification. 

Strong Microsoft Office skills required, Moderate to advanced EXCEL skills needed.
