Accountabilities
• Assist in maintaining Liberty’s compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations by acquiring competency in existing and new regulations and monitoring internal environmental activities.
• Develop a good working relationship with federal, state, and local governmental officials to assist in effective and timely regulatory compliance and permitting.
• Contribute to Liberty’s environmental compliance in providing required monitoring, reporting, and permitting documentation in support of our operations.
• Provide environmental support to construction projects from concept to operating permits.
• Advise Senior Leadership on changes to regulation and emerging environmental trends and impact to Liberty.
• Contribute to Liberty’s reporting compliance and strategic planning by providing information for regulatory filings, corporate environmental management requirements, and statistical analysis.
• Support Liberty ESG sustainability initiatives by tracking, analyzing, and reporting ESG metrics for environmental projects and governance including greenhouse gas disclosure, water usage, thermal air emissions, plant efficiency data, biodiversity, waste, and recycling reporting, and tracking environmental projects
• Support Liberty development of conservation mitigation site by organizing, tracking, training, and reporting as designated in site plans and agreements
• Support Liberty emergency preparedness through development and coordination of mandated environmental response and emergency storm response and wildlife impact response.
• Contribute to environmental compliance awareness through the development and presentation of training internally and through community outreach.
Education and Experience
• BS degree or equivalent experience with industry and operational background in environmental and/or safety areas.
• Possess and maintain a working knowledge of all environmental rules applicable to the Company.
• Preferred minimum 5 years’ experience in the Environmental Health and Safety field in North America
• Thorough understanding of environmental laws and regulations as applicable to the utility and energy industries in United States
• Experience in remote management and supervision - demonstrated leadership qualities
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Some travel required
