Purpose
A lineman is responsible for building and maintaining electric power systems and for restoring electric service to commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential customers.
Accountabilities

- Have or be able to learn a broad spectrum of tasks and job duties required of linework.
- Safe over the road driving and jobsite operations of equipment including Digger Derrick, Bucket Truck, and various line building equipment.
- Ability to follow approved work practices involving dead line and live line working procedures on Distribution and Transmission Systems.
- Capable of responding (as required) to calls for the restoration of the Transmission and Distribution System both during business hours and outside business hours.
- Ability to expertly represent the company and the company brand while working with customers.
- Capable of working on a team and within a team environment.
- Demonstrate competency with computers
Education and Experience
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Must have or be able to acquire a Class A CDL Driver’s License
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Have completed or be able to complete structured apprenticeship program or equivalent.
- Must be able to complete Introduction to Line Work course within 30 days.
- Time management skills
- Continuous computer and hands on training
- Must comply with the living requirement for this position (PA-5)
