Purpose
Participate in a dynamic team-driven environment to support the System Planning process for Transmission and Distribution planning and analysis. Liberty participates in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) annual modeling process, along with other SPP member entities, to jointly develop seasonal models that accurately represent seasonal System conditions for the planning horizon that can be used to evaluate the reliability of the System and identify any potential areas of concern. Adherence to SPP planning criteria and other data requirements, within established guidelines and deadlines, provides development of accurate planning models. The System Planning process is the foundation for supporting other departments in the performance of their duties and provides a source of information for submission to various regulatory entities, including but not limited to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) and public service commissions.
Accountabilities
Position duties and responsibilities include:
- Collection of transmission and distribution system information for compliance with existing and any future regulatory requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and/or improve databases for data storage and retrieval of transmission and distribution system information.
- Assist in the management of contractors engaged in distribution planning projects, including data access needs, scheduling meetings, processing invoices and other related duties
- Support System Planning Engineers with projects, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Basic job knowledge of electric utility operations and any specialized knowledge of technical, trades, construction, planning or office operations areas.
- Ability to work with others to troubleshoot problems quickly and accurately while recommending or implementing effective solutions (documentation of corrective action plans taken and results)
- University – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams applications
