We are currently seeking ambitious and driven candidates to join our newly developed new graduate program – Liberty Foundations. The Liberty Foundations program is a two-year rotational program, designed to provide new graduates with the breadth of experience in the Utilities industry.
At the start of the program, you will start journey understanding more about our organization with an orientation, which includes short rotations across fundamental departments and site visits. This overview will help launch the foundation of learning you will receive throughout the program.
At the completion of our in-depth orientation, you will complete your program with three 7-month rotations in one of two streams – Regulatory or Finance and Accounting. This will provide you with industry-specific technical and professional skills you will need in your chosen stream.

You will be selected for one of these two streams based on your skills, experience and future goals. Each stream offers a variety of rotations which will allow you to further develop new skills and gain a diverse set of skills in the field. Below is an outline of the streams, including the rotational areas for each:


Finance  &  Accounting  stream
Property:  Looking  at  the  capital  –  possible  site  visit  to  one  of  our  local  sites.
•     Revenue:  Learn  about  billing  and  how  we  bill  customers.
•     Financial  planning  &  analysis:  Learn  about  all  forms  of  budgeting,  long  term  
models, analysis  and  how  we  track  data.
•     Financial  Reporting:  Learn  about  inter-company  transactions,  annual  reports,  
forecasting and  our  long-term  model

Regulatory  stream
•     Accounting:  Learn  different  aspects  of  regulatory  accounting,  including  reporting 
requirements,  revenue  structure,  etc.
•     Rates:  Learn  about  rate  forming  and  understanding  how  rates  are  calculated.
•     Regulatory:  Learn  about  the  Legal  side  of  regulatory  -  preparing  rate  case,  
testimony, how  you  build  a  rate  case,  what  is  included  in  a  testimony,  environmental  
compliance, etc.
•     Policy  &  strategy:  Learn  about  understanding  what  our  policies  are  in  how  we  
interact with  state  regulators  as  well  as  how  we  like  to  approach  our  regulators  for  
rate  cases.
•     Government  affairs:  Learn  about  our  government  affairs  process  including  legislative 
and  state  policies.

Education and Experience

•     Newly  graduated  from  post-secondary  institution  with  a  focus  on  Business  
Administration, Accounting/Finance,  Economics,  Environment  and  Business  or  an  equivalent  
•     Strong  analytical  and  methodical  problem-solving  skills
•     You  are  a  self-starter  with  a  proven  ability  to  work  well  independently  or  
within  a  team environment
•     You  collaborate  well  in  order  to  achieve  the  best  results  and  deliver  the  most  
•     Willingness  and  flexibility  to  travel  for  rotations,  where  applicable
