Purpose

Responsible for the upkeep of Mapping and Geographical Information System (GIS) related systems as it relates to the Liberty Utilities New Brunswick natural gas distribution system.

Accountabilities

    • Create, edit, and maintain GIS data. Includes data collection, input, and linkages to various databases/images
    • Using ArcGIS Pro and Utility Network, update and maintain various GIS data, including the street centerline, parcel, subdivision, and utility data. Input data from contractor data, surveyor data, engineering plans, and subdivision plans
    • Directly work with the Liberty Enterprise GIS core team to ensure the gas system’s GIS needs are met in the Enterprise GIS that will utilize the ArcGIS Enterprise suite of tools as well as editing within the Esri Utility Network platform
    • Sound working knowledge of data creation, processing, editing analyses and map production, using a combination of ESRI’s products and extensions such as ArcGIS Pro, Utility Network Manager and ArcGIS Enterprise tools and applications
    • Provide maps, web map applications, dashboards and figures to other departments as needed

Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree with major course work in Geographic Information Systems
    • In Lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 5 years of active GIS Specialist and or Analyst work related to a utility
    • 3+ years of Utility industry experience is preferred
    • Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS Pro and Utility Network
    • Knowledge of AutoCad and/or MicroStation is an asset
    • Proficient utilization with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) required
    • Strong skills in the use of computer and peripheral equipment required
    • Supervisory experience is an asset
    • Energetic and results-driven, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
    • Responsible for maintaining   plotters, wide format printers, and scanners required
    • Ability to analyze field notes and technical data; design and develop drawings and maps; completing various engineering drawings of equipment, systems, and installations required
  • Flexible with traveling to other company sites and locations
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
  • Driver’s license required
