Manager, US Tax

Reporting to the Director, International Tax, the Tax Manager for the U.S. Liberty Power group will be responsible for all income tax compliance and income tax reporting matters of this group as well as providing tax support to the business development group for acquisitions and development projects.



  • Participate in a broad range of complex and challenging US tax projects inclusive of due diligence, M&A, and tax structuring assignments
  • Support business development needs for tax advice and reviewing deal models
  • Actively participate in industry groups and related tax initiatives
  • Manage outsourcing of U.S. corporate and tax equity partnership income tax compliance
  • Prepare or review U.S. GAAP quarterly and annual income tax provisions and effective tax rate reconciliations for Liberty Power U.S. group to support public reporting
  • Perform annual income tax provision to tax return true-up including tax basis balance sheet proof
  • Prepare and maintain budget and forecasted cash tax and income tax expense for the LP U.S. group
  • Provide technical tax support for sales and property tax matters or recommend outsource as needed

Education and Experience


  • Degree in tax, accounting, finance, or business
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in U.S. corporate income tax along with a professional accounting designation (CPA preferred)
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • U.S. income tax partnership experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & oral) and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with other team members and different departments
  • Attention to detail and strong hands-on skills
  • Able to work with and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of MS office products; SAP or similar; Power Plan and Power Tax exposure preferred; Hyperion smart-view preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
