Purpose
The position’s primary responsibilities are installing and maintaining transmission and distribution systems and facilities. (Dual Role) responsibilities are customer service field activities and maintaining distribution systems and facilities. Performs such work by Company, regulatory, and safety procedures.
Accountabilities
- Complete all safety-related training
- Change index and meter glass
- Complete electronic orders and line locates as part of a damage prevention program
- May be required to maintain and operate specialized or heavy equipment
- May assist in training and directing other employees engaged in similar duties
- Respond to customer concerns
- Perform activities to ensure responsiveness of natural gas and other emergencies
- Complete and maintain accurate records to comply with company and regulatory requirements
- Complete all safety-related training
Perform stand-by duty, work shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency callouts, and occasional extensive hours; is subject to reporting outside the regular work area
- Serve as a first responder for leaks, CO, NGLP, etc.
- Work to obtain CDL, plastic fusion, competent person certification, line location, and repair
- Work to be proficient at operating excavating equipment
- Operate and maintain heavy and specialized equipment
- Review job site maps for all utility lines and ensure placement of utility markings at the job site
- Must become familiar with the contents of the safety manual and work according to its intent and be involved in creating and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Responsible for the safe operation inspection of assigned company vehicles and equipment
- Demonstrate support for and adhere to the company’s values, strategies, policies, and procedures and exhibits the core values of Liberty’s mission statement, customer service, safety, and the company’s code of conduct as an individual contributor and team member
- Service and construction helper
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or a GED
- Proficiency in basic computer knowledge.
- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
- Must obtain and maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training for the position and any other required OQs and classroom training or certifications within six months
- Requires valid driver’s license by company standards
- Must obtain and maintain a Competent Person certificate
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to stoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders, and do heavy lifting. Able to lift and carry materials up to 50lbs. The ability to occasionally ascend and descend stairs and ladders is required. Must also have keen senses of smell, hearing, vision, and color identification. Ability to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions is required.
