Purpose
As a Liberty Utility Wind Turbine Technician, you will be responsible for the preventive maintenance and troubleshooting at Liberty owned wind sites. You will also be the direct oversight for contracted field technicians to guarantee all safety and industry maintenance standards are being adhered to.
Accountabilities
• This position will have emphasis on safety and field contractor audits.
• Safety-first mindset is a must.
• Able to climb wind towers up to 125 meters.
• Able to work in confirmed spaces as well as extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Minimum 4 years in wind turbine maintenance role.
• Ability to move and manipulate components up to 100 pounds.
• Due to climbing restrictions, body weight must not exceed 265 pounds.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on Vestas V110 and V120 wind turbine generating systems.
• Daily climbing of wind towers, wearing all required safety equipment.
• Desire to develop leadership skills and function as a team lead.
• Working knowledge of electrical controls and instrumentation.
• Able to read and understand P&ID’s, logic diagrams and drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of drawing conventions.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Computer experience including Microsoft Office suite.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and capable of obtaining a CDL Class A.
• Able to effectively function in team environment.
• Able to work independently without direct supervision.
• At times, maintain access roads and right of ways with machinery.
Education and Experience
• High School diploma or equivalent required. Related technical certificate or applicable military experience preferred.
• Minimum 4 years in wind turbine maintenance role.
• Experience working with and without direct supervision, both individually and as a team.
• Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with skill and efficiency.
• Tower climb and rescue certified.
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Candidate will be required to reside within 45 minutes of reporting work site.
