Purpose
Ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable source of power which contributes to the profitability of the Company through overall management of the operation and maintenance of the Central Region Renewable generating assets
Accountabilities
- Participate as a member of the Energy Supply management team to (1) assure adequate energy supply to meet Company demands; profitably produce electrical energy with minimum environmental impact;
- Maintain system reliability; and (4) profitably participate in the bulk power market.
- Lead and develop quality teams to (1) assure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant; and (2) provide a competitive source of energy for the Company’s customers.
- Working with OEMs, lead in the development and implementation of maintenance programs that effectively prevent unscheduled outages, allow for higher rates of preventive, as compared to corrective, maintenance and facilitate preparation for planned outages.
- Responsible for compliance with Purchase Power Agreements, Utility connection agreements, wind turbine OEM service agreements and O&M Agreements with emphasis on safety while maximizing profits and minimizing penalties
- Assure the preparation of the plant O&M and capital budgets to be used in planning and controlling expenditures to produce informed business decisions. Provide input related to efficiency and availability of units for fuel budgeting purposes.
- Provide a safe, challenging and satisfying work environment by (1) involving employees in safety; (2) creating a learning environment which encourages employees to demonstrate initiative and ingenuity; and (3) providing training necessary to enable success in a competitive environment.
- Coordinate with others to ensure that plant operations are consistent with applicable laws, regulations, permits and Power Pool requirements.

Walking, climbing stairs and ladders, crawl through constricted areas, climb through and inspect equipment, work long and varying hours, work in extreme temperature conditions, wear personal protective equipment.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) plus ten (10) years’ experience in the renewables industry.
- Demonstrate technical and managerial capability
- Minimum of five (5) years previous experience in supervision of technical, operating or maintenance personnel
- In-depth knowledge and experience of wind power generating equipment and technologies
- In-depth knowledge and experience of Solar power generating equipment and technologies
- Good understanding of power generation and delivery systems
- Familiar with company computers and their use for planning, budgeting, inventory control and database handling
