Purpose
Install, repair and rebuild a wide variety of mechanical and civil components to support the Cogeneration Facility. Required to operate independently to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical malfunctions, as well as performing predictive and preventative maintenance. Required to have secondary skills in the piping and plumbing field to support the areas of steam, water and air. Must be fully oriented to the Cogeneration operations and capable of responding to emergency situations. Ability to work rotating shifts during scheduled outages, including holidays. Must be a “Team Player.”
Accountabilities
- Perform all predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance on all mechanical, piping and civil areas within the Cogeneration Facility.
- Perform assistance to the Electrical/I&C personnel as required during scheduled outages, as well as on a routine basis.
- Perform welding and cutting as required.
- Assist in troubleshooting and system development projects.
Special Qualifications:
- Use a wide range of hand and power tools and equipment to perform maintenance installation, repair and rebuild of equipment and facility. Work environment requires performance throughout the Cogeneration Facility. Exposed to inherent industrial power plant conditions and must use ladders, cranes hoists, industrial trucks and material handling equipment. Mental acuity and manual dexterity is required to perform tasks, observe environmental and safety requirements, read and comprehend technical manuals, work order instructions and engineering prints and diagrams. Proficient in computer applications, Microsoft, computerized maintenance management system (SAP). Must be capable of unassisted handling of materials up to 50 pounds. If required, must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays and respond to call-ins during off shift hours. Required to be on call during off shift hours.
Education and Experience
- High School, Vocational Training (or equivalent).
- 5 – 7 years experience in mechanical and civil maintenance.
- Secondary skills in the area of piping and plumbing are required.
