Purpose

 

Manager, ROC is an individual who manages the ROC 24/7/365 team, encouraging cooperation, productivity, and teamwork with the APM, Engineering and Field Operations teams. The Manager, ROC will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the ROC in a 24/7/265 environment.  The Manager, ROC will be responsible for all activities performed by the team on shift.
The Manager, ROC must foster team unity and enhance the daily efficiency of the companies or any business establishment. They will implement programs and processes and oversee monitoring and operations of the assets under the ROC control. They will be responsible to operate and maintain the Generating station facility/equipment on a daily basis under the ROC control, in order to ensure proper operation and preventive and predictive maintenance in accordance with all laws and regulations and in accordance with Liberty safety policies and, procedures.  

Accountabilities

 

  • Ensure the effective monitoring of the assets under control of the ROC
  • Operation of the facility/equipment in accordance with: 
    • The site Operation Manual 
    • Liberty procedures;
    • All the relevant safety standards of Liberty
    • Interconnection agreements
    • NERC/FERC and other regulatory standards
    • Emergency and Crisis Management Plans

 

  • Build and deploy ROC that is under process. Development, review and maintenance of operating procedures associated with ROC activities
  • Development and maintenance of the schedule of the ROC Operators providing 24/7/365 coverage as they monitor systems, respond to alarms and faults and handle support requests from the field operations.
  • Provide analysis of the ROC performance, monitoring and reporting on customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement in the processes and systems.
  • Ensure training materials, systems documentation and policy & procedure manuals are reviewed, up to date and availably to all ROC staff.
  • Liberty Power is in an Operational Excellence journey. Therefore, Interfacing with various other groups and departments for the continuous improvement of ROC Operations, especially working with the APM Manager and team, the Operations Technology group to ensure efficient operations of the ROC.
  • Along with the APM team develop analytics that utilize fault, downtime and reliability data to proactively address asset availability issues impacting production output vs targets and implement a reliability mindset into the team to provide meaningful insights that drive the use of analytics
  • Implement procedures that help ensure the availability of critical equipment through KPIs, adequate spares, required maintenance schedules 
  • Work with team members to ensure production is achieved and maintained, and identify and resolve non-standard conditions
  • Perform administrative tasks related to supervision, such as overseeing employee performance, development of individual development plans for staff, approving vacation requests, timesheets and addressing employee concerns.
  • Provide management updates, reports and feedback on all production critical activities, participating in various meetings
  • Act promptly in reporting to the Director, ROC and APM any facility/equipment deficiencies in case of damages and/or emergency situations. During emergencies refer to the Operation Manual of the facility and follow the steps related to Emergency notification.
  • You will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members on a daily basis, including oversee day-to-day operation & maintenance.
  • Oversee the generation production and outages reports. Monitor system performance
  • Provide training and leadership to ensure that employees are performing assign work properly and in accordance with procedures.

Education and Experience

 

  • A degree / diploma in engineering or science related discipline
  • Provide a clear background check to be able to work in the NERC CIP Medium environment
  • Possession of a valid Passport for travel into the United States.
  • A solid understanding of SCADA and OT Systems
  • Experience in both digital and analog instrumentation systems and signals, experience in industrial communications protocols including but not limited to; TCP/IP, OPC, Modbus
  • Familiarity with key NERC standards (PRC, VAR-002) 
  • Familiarity with security and cyber security systems and the implications of Industrial Control Systems
  • Understanding of various power generation types, assets and equipment
  • A working knowledge of computers with competence in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn new techniques, skills and work methods
  • Be able to communicate in an effective and professional manner, both in speaking and in email
  • Be available to work flexible hours depending on the job or situation
  • Being able to adapt to change and spot changes in your environment
