Lead Analyst, Customer Origination

The Lead Analyst Customer Origination is responsible for supporting Origination and Business Development in the growth of customer relationships that result in long-term energy sales and partnerships on new utility scale renewable wind, solar, energy storage and RNG projects.  This individual will inform the customer growth strategy by actively researching customer opportunities, investigating markets, and leveraging business intelligence to expand upon the company’s success with renewable energy corporate buyers, large commercial and industrial customers, banks, municipalities, cooperatives, utilities, and other strategic renewable energy partners in the US and Canada. 
This role is ideal for a self-starter who is entrepreneurial, and thoughtful with leading the recommendations to management on new customer and market opportunities to pursue for long-term renewable energy contracts that support customers’ long-term sustainability needs and help the transition over to clean renewable energy.



  • Pro-actively monitor and develop customer origination opportunities for long-term renewable energy sales that meet customers’ long-term ESG objectives
  • Lead the timely and quality delivery of requests for proposals on renewable energy projects by coordinating with Development, Engineering, Trading, Legal, Credit, and other stakeholders
  • Stay abreast of renewable energy market and customer developments, regulatory policy changes
  • Develop understanding of Power Purchase Agreements
  • Enhance the company’s view to strategic customer relationships and targeted outreach by utilizing the Customer Relationship Management system for tracking and reporting
  • Perform market fundamental analysis, develop tools to evaluate renewable generation in electricity markets across North America
  • Perform analytics and recommendations on offtake contracting for early stage development of renewable energy projects
  • Maintain comprehensive records of project submissions, RFP feedback, economic drivers

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Finance
  • Experience in North American electricity markets, power generation, utility, or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of renewable energy, net-zero targets, and corporate sustainability goals   
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills along with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of contracts (PPAs, ISDAs) is beneficial
  • Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills 
  • Ideal candidate has commercial acumen, analytical thinking, and a desire for continuous learning
