IT Service Desk Associate

Purpose

The role of IT Service Desk Associate is to supply Level 1 support and to be the first point of contact for computer, desk phone, smartphone and peripheral related events and service requests.  The Service Desk Associate also performs user adminstration tasks and setups for adds/modifications and termination of accounts, including provisioning of PCs, cell phones and setups.  The Service Desk Associate will also maintain IT stores and assist with organization of purchased IT assets and configuration. 

Accountabilities

  • Provide technical support of desktop hardware, applications, and peripherals including connectivity troubleshooting
  • Complete service tickets pertaining to general service requests (Password resets, Ticket Triaging, Phone Support etc)
  • Assist with new users, transfers and terminated employee setup - procurement, telephone, mobile setup
  • Asset tagging and inventory tracking of PCs and Desk phones
  • Perform set Asset and configuration tasks, stock (inventory) of IT Stores (Laptops & Peripherals etc)
  • Procurement, provisioning and setup of smartphones and tablets
  • Tier 1 triage of incident tickets, automated alerts and escalation to support teams.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years relvant IT experience 
  • College or professional program of at least 3 years desired 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PC and Microsoft windows troubleshooting and repair
  • Able to work in a fast pace and ever changing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of customers
  • Strong customer service & multitasking skills
  • Ability to travel as needed, with potential overnights
  • Previous ticketing system knowledge is a plus
