The Manager, Accounting, is expected to deliver support to departmental leaders to assist them in managing month-end close and regulatory requests. This requires the ability to thrive in team-oriented environments and ensuring a high degree of accountability, visibility, and understanding as it relates to the reporting, accounting, and operational performance of the organization. The position will require significant interaction with key members of senior management, operations and regulatory


• Responsible for the review of end of month processes for all fuel accounting functions, oversight of monthly variance analyses and interactions with operation

• Ensure all financial system processes are documented, key controls identified, and procedures developed from periodically testing the effectiveness of controls.

• Strong ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects successfully while maintaining commitment to deadlines.

• Review work and providing feedback, training, mentorship, and development to direct reports and other cross functional professionals.

• Build and maintain strong relationships and effective communication with key stakeholders and functional partners across business regions. May provide guidance and leadership on general accounting issues as well as efficiencies of processes.

• Deliver financial information to the leadership team, including key performance measures and detailed cause and effect analysis on a variety of complex financial/business/operating issues.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 10 years’ experience in accounting and finance.

• Experience in the public utility sector within finance will be strongly considered.

• Solid understanding of principles of accounting, finance and management accounting required.

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

• Professional presentation with excellent social and communication skills.

• Strong business knowledge with proven ability to provide strategic solutions to complex problems required.

• Ability to manage projects and completion of meeting deadlines

• Ensuring staff understands priorities, level of effort and time constraints collaboration.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) particularly in Excel required.

• Flexibility with traveling within US.
