Supervisor, Customer Metering Services

Purpose

Supervise, coach, train and administer appropriate actions associated with daily Customer Field Service operation.

Accountabilities

  • Manage the dispatch office to provide scheduled work for service techs and dispatch them as required. Prioritize all work within the area to provide for the most efficient scheduling and use of resources.
  • Supervise Customer Field Service personnel, meter shop and two man fitting work.
  • Check and supervise all large meter installations. Conduct field tech audits and quality assurance site visits. Equipment inspections and audits as required.
  • Maintain records of gas leaks and arrival times. Manage the workforce plan. Monitor Dispatch Process effectiveness, including the dispatch schedule.
  • Understand and implement the provisions of the, Local 369, UWUA AFL-CIO, Union Contract.
  • Completes time sheet accurately, including supporting those submitted by the workforce regarding the assigned job or jobs and record the proper account number relating to the work performed.
  • Monitor employee attendance in accordance with Company FMLA and Attendance Control policies.
  • Support manager in implementation of departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in off hour coverage for emergencies including hit mains, storms, and customer outages.
  • Ensure adherence to the company’s O&M standards
  • Demonstrate a high standard of safety and provide a safe work environment by complying with safety regulations and enforcing corporate and operational policies and procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration plus a minimum of five years’ experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform assigned work required. 5+ years of Gas Utility industry experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of gas utility operations, federal, state and local natural gas codes. 
  • Excellent leadership and decision making skills.  Ability to work well within a team environment as well as operate within cross-functional teams to address various customer requests.   Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, diagrams and procedure manuals.  
  • Must be able to qualify for and perform the covered tasks under the Operator Qualification standards    
  • Understanding of GIS Systems and how to read/interpret company distribution records.
  • Working knowledge of pressure control and monitoring systems.Ability to operate gas leak detection equipment.   Ability to work evenings and weekends as required     Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint or comparable software applications    
  • Valid Driver’s License
