Renewable Natural Gas Manager

The Renewable Natural Gas Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Renewable Natural Gas facilities by ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and provides owner site representation.  Accountable for safety, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, ensure long term integrity of asset and maximize revenues. This position is also expected to assist in the growth and expansion of the renewable natural gas portfolio within the company. 

The RNG project will initially consist of 4 separate sites. The areas of responsibility for two of the sites will include upgrader skid (Galileo), RNG trailers, and trucking of the trailers to the interconnect site for injection. The other two sites the areas of responsibility will include digesters,  upgrader skid (Galileo), RNG trailers, and trucking of the trailers to the interconnect site for injection.


•    Uphold public and worker safety by ensunring that all Operations and Maintenance Contractors follow all safety policies and procedures applicable to the site and operation of the equipment.
•    Ensure all supplier and Operations and Maintenance Agreement contractual obligations are adhered to
•    Ensure coordination of site Renewable Natural Gas injection schedules with each site, the trucking hauler, Dane County Landfill injection point, and Algonquin Energy Services.
•    Ensure that OEM, and Operations and Maintenance contractors perform all corrective and preventative maintenance as per manufacturers recommendations and industry best practice standards.
•    Plan and schedule any owner training required to meet company objectives
•    Aid in the development of the yearly budget requirements and manage the facility within approved budget parameters
•    Track the production losses and abnormally high maintenance cost assets, and then plan on ways to reduce those losses or high costs.
•    Interface with other departments to provide information and support as required
•    Interface with external agencies as required
•    Interface with landowners as needed
•    Initiate and assist with all insurance and warranty claims made by the company
•    Plan and execute all monitoring requirements at the facility
•    Ensure the projects are in compliance and process all required filings to ensure compliance.
•    Accountable for the financial performance of the facility on a day to day basis
•    Accountable for adherence to corporate policies and procedures
•    Directly or indirectly supervise OEM, contractor activities at his/her facilities
•    Provide monitoring of  sites to ensure production requirements are met
•    Learn and understand the complete operation of each site to serve as a back up to the OMA provider and to eventually take operation and maintenance in house to self perform RNG operations.

Education and Experience

•    Knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations related to renewable natural gas operations
•    Strong Knowledge and understanding of renewable natural gas and digester equipment construction and operation, gas compression and filtration equipment
•    Understanding of budgeting and cost control practices
•    Ability to manage and lead people
•    Ability to make quick decisions and use good judgment
•    Proficient with the use of Word, Excel and Outlook software programs
•    Knowledge and understanding of corporate and industry safety standards and practices
