Purpose


This position is responsible for energy resource assessments and statistical analysis for both in-house developments and potential acquisitions in the context of renewable energy projects. In addition, the Resource Analyst III will assess projects from a site suitability and structural risk perspective as well as a from site feasibility standpoint. The ultimate goal is to prove guidance and recommendations to the BD team with respect to an optimized net annual production, based on internal modelling and external assistance from Independent Engineers.  

Accountabilities


 

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed solar models, solar modelling (EYA/PCYA) using mainly PVSyst but also PV Module software and PVLib opensources
  • Assess potential solar sites creating models and layouts within PVCase, AutoCAD and PVSyst/Sketchup
  • Prepare probability of exceedance statistical metrics (P50, P75, P90 and P95)
  • Analyze solar and other climatic data as weather files, operational solar farm production and performance – Data from Scada or Monthly Operating Reports
  • Conduct statistical uncertainty analysis
  • Assess different technologies and LCOE analysis
  • Prepare written summary reports and power points
     

Site Inspections:

  • Determine locations for solar measurement hardware deployment
  • Inspect sites and measurement equipment (pyranometry), onsite and remotely
  • Assess sites for solar farms, terrain, interconnection, land parcels
     

Other:

  • Quality control of meteorological Data
  • Interpreter data from meteorological stations
  • Select Mesoscale maps, topography, and determine roughness of the areas of interest

Education and Experience

 

  • University Degree - Master's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of previous relevant experience
  • 1+ years of previous experience in a leadership capacity with focus on coaching others
